MEET THE TEAM
Tony Higginson
Senior partner within the firm with more than 4 decades of experience within the hospitality and property industry. Plays a more advisory role within the business now, a position best suited to his semi-retired lifestyle. Tony’s pedigree includes a 5 year industrial electrical engineer apprenticeship, served in the U.K, followed by 2 years of British military service. He decided a change was in order after leaving the army and diversified into sales – Working for a multi national chemical and engineering company based in the north of England – He left after 16 years of service as national sales director. This prompted him to buy and develop his first hotel and residential complex in 1977 – Thus forming the foundations of our business today.
David Higginson
Extremely dedicated and persistent character with extensive project management experience at all levels within the property development and investment sector – Both locally and internationally. Spatial design and aesthetics are his real passion and strengths and as such are clearly translated into all our developments. Enjoys the everyday challenges of working within the highly competitive environment of property trading. A traditionally fully trained gourmet chef in the UK – spent a number of years working within the hospitality industry in the Bahamas, U.S.A and Mainland Europe. Achieving a number of operational awards within the hotel and catering industry throughout this time.
John Higginson
Enthusiastic, driven and proactive character with extensive project management experience at all levels within the property development and investment sector – both locally and internationally. Enjoys being part of, as well as leading a successful and productive team of professionals. A fully qualified commercial helicopter pilot – a lifestyle choice that fits seamlessly well with his property business commitments. A graduate trained teacher – in the social sciences – never saw that as his vocation in life and quickly diversified into the property and hospitality industry.
Herman Slabbert
An attorney of law with extensive litigation and conveyancing experience spanning more than 2 decades. His formal legal background positions him well in engineering and actioning intricate and convoluted legal frameworks we put together.
Vernon Head
Vernon studied architecture, winning national and international awards for design and creative thinking. He is the owner of Vernon Head Architects and has worked on many projects alongside Out of the Box Developments. When not working on environmental matters, he is either designing special buildings, or traveling the world looking for the rarest birds.
